Biography
Kelly Rea is an associate professor
of psychology and sociology at Coastal Bend College. Ms. Rea is an
alumnus of CBC and the TRIO Upward Bound Program. Her connection to CBC
began in high school when she was a student participant in the CBC TRIO Upward
Bound Program. With the support of her family and others her dreams of a
college education and a successful professional career materialized.
Ms. Rea earned an Associate of
Applied Science and an Associate of Science degree at Coastal Bend College.
She then transferred to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi where she
received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Science in Counseling
and Guidance. She completed additional graduate work in Psychology and
Sociology at the University of Houston-Victoria and Texas A&M -Kingsville
respectfully.
When asked about the best part of
her work, Ms. Rea states it is working with students and helping them achieve
their goals. She understands the importance of quality instruction,
guidance, mentoring, offering support and giving back to others. In her
spare time, Ms. Rea enjoys spending time with family, traveling, outdoor
activities, reading, cooking and a variety of other things. She invites
