  • Biography

    Director Kevin Behr has been employed by Coastal Bend College since 1999, starting his CBC career as an instructor in the Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Programs.  He is currently assigned as the Director of Public Safety and Emergency Management for the college district.  His responsibilities include the management and operation of the security and safety plans for CBC.  Dr. Behr holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence and is a Master Texas Peace Officer with over 30 years of experience in law and law enforcement. His areas of expertise include Criminal Investigation, Police Tactics, Crime Scene Investigation,  Forensic Reconstruction and Emergency Management.  In addition to his duties at CBC, he continues to maintain his skill and proficiency as a law enforcement officer and forensic specialist. Employed as a Sergeant and Lead Crime Scene Investigator for the Bee County Sheriff’s Office, Dr. Behr brings his knowledge and aptitudes to law enforcement by providing continuing education to area law enforcement officers and safety trainings to our CBC employees and students.  Dr.  Behr has been acknowledged for his teaching abilities by being awarded CBC Faculty of the Year in 2012 and the recipient of the nationally prestigious NISOD Excellence in Teaching and Leadership Award of the Year for 2012.  In addition, Dr. Behr has received Supervisor of the Year on two occasions from the Bee County Sheriff’s Office.  

    Dr. Behr is a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Beeville, the current President of the Board of Education for Beeville Independent School District and remains active within the community he serves.  He is the father of five and a grandfather of four.  In his off time, Dr. Behr likes to hunt, engage in competition shooting, and travel.
