    Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)  

      

    The TEAS is a multiple-choice assessments measuring basic academic preparedness in reading, math, science, English and language usage. The objectives assessed in our tests are those that nursing and allied health educators deem most relevant for measuring entry level skills and abilities of program applicants. The test not only predicts the performance of incoming candidates, it also helps educators gain advance knowledge of the strengths and areas needing development of those that are accepted into the program.  

     

    **For the LVN to RN Bridge, students MUST SCORE AT LEAST 70% TO PROGRESS IN THE APPLICATION PROGRESS.  

    **For the VN program, students MUST SCORE AT LEAST 55% TO PROGRESS IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS.  

      

    Scheduling The Exam   

    • Select your campus/site. You may take test at any site.   
    • Call or email the site contact to reserve a date. Provide your name, date you want to test and a viable telephone number and email address.   
    • You can test three times but must pay the fee each time.  

     

    Preparing To Take The Exam  

    There are several different resources you can use to help prepare to take the exam.  You may find prep books and online courses that help you prepare to take the exam if you search online or go to http://www.atitesting.com/2/teas-prep.aspx%3Fsrc%3Dppc for the official TEAS website.  At http://www.testprepreview.com/teas_practice.htm there is a detailed breakdown of the exam and what to expect, as well as study tips.  

    The Day Of The Exam   

    • Arrive on the date you selected approximately 15 minutes early.   
    • Bring to the test a picture ID and a debit, credit card or pre-paid card to pay for the test fee that day.
