•  Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) 

    The TEAS is a multiple-choice assessment test measuring basic academic preparedness in Reading, Math, Science, and English. The objectives assessed in this tests are those that nursing and allied health educators deem most relevant for measuring entry level skills and abilities of program applicants. The test not only predicts the performance of incoming candidates, it also helps educators gain advance knowledge of the strengths and areas needing development of those that are accepted into the program.     

    **For the LVN to RN Bridge,and Associates of Applied Science RN students MUST SCORE AT LEAST 70% TO RECEIVE AN APPLICATION.     

    **For the LVN program, students MUST SCORE AT LEAST 55% TO RECEIVE AN APPLICATION.         

    Scheduling The Exam      

    • Select your campus/site. You may take the test at any site. All scores must be submitted to Coastal Bend College through the ATI testing website.    
    • The TEAS test is available at All CBC locations. To schedule at the site of your choice please contact the Nursing Support Specialist for that campus. http://coastalbend.edu/TEAS_Schedule/ . Provide your name, the date you want to test and a current telephone number and email address.      
    • You can test three times per academic year (Sept- May). The fee for testing is $58.00 each attempt.

    The Day Of The Exam      

    • Arrive on the date you selected approximately 15 minutes early.      
    • Bring to the test a valid picture ID and a debit, credit or pre-paid card to pay for the test fee of $58.00 that day.
