    To protect our students from the potential spread of COVID-19, Coastal Bend College has temporarily closed its doors to the public. Our staff is currently working to adapt our programs to better suit your needs.

    Are the Upward Bound and Upward Bound Rural programs open?
    While the physical office for the Upward Bound and Upward Bound Rural Programs is closed, we are continuing to provide services to our participants in a remote manner. Student advising will continue in a virtual manner, using video, online and/or mobile platforms, as well.

    How will Upward Bound/Upward Bound Rural advising appointments be scheduled and accomplished?
    Each counselor will schedule and conduct virtual advising with their students through Zoom, FaceTime or phone meetings. Tutoring will still be available through our iTutor system, and logins may be obtained from your advisor. 

     Our remote office hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

    What is Zoom and how do I create an account?
    Zoom is the leader in modern enterprise video communications, with an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, collaboration, chat and webinars across mobile devices, desktops, telephones, and room systems. Your counselor will send you a link to use for your meeting.  You can also create a Zoom account using your personal email and unique password. 

    What resources are Upward Bound/UBR currently providing for students and families?
    Upward Bound/UBR will be posting local and community resources on our Facebook account at facebook.com/upwardboundCBC.

    I have an Upward Bound/ UBR application I would like to turn in.  How will I complete this step now with the office currently closed? 

    All in person recruitment interviews have been suspended for the time being. If you have already submitted a completed application, we will contact you. Upward Bound/UBR is still accepting applications for the 2020-2021 academic year. You can submit an application online via our website.
