  • Biography    

    Phyllis E. Garcia attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas where she received her B.A., in 1994. Her major field of study was Theatre and her minor was in Communication. Also in 1994, she received her Teacher Certification.  In 1999, she finished her course work to receive her M.Ed, with her major field of study being Theatre and Communication. While attending Sul Ross State University, Ms. Garcia belonged to Alpha Psi Omega, Alpha Epsilon Rho and received Who's Who in American Colleges in 1992, 1993, 1995.   

    Ms. Garcia comes to us from the public school system. She taught both at the the junior high and high school level.  In addition, she was a coach for U.I.L. Poetry, Prose, Spelling and a One-Act Director at both levels. 

    While at Coastal Bend College she has taught 1311 Speech Communication, 1315 Public Speaking and 1318 Business Communication for the Communication department. She also teaches 1311 Drama Appreciation and 1351& 1352 acting for the Performing Arts department; the classes participate in a production in both long semesters.   She is also an active member with the faculty senate.
