Spring 2020 Keynote Address – Zachary Z. Suarez, MPA, DPA 

Dr. Zachary Z. Suarez is Dean of Enrollment Services at Coastal Bend College. 

Dr. Suarez has more than a decade of academic and applied experience in the fields of business and public administration. His lifelong interests include helping students reach their educational goals, aiding as a teacher and mentor, and serving as a public advocate within his local communities.  

Dr. Suarez received his Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Doctor of Public Policy degree from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. 

He began his professional career at South Texas College in McAllen, Texas, where he quickly rose to a leadership role within the college’s student services division. In 2018, Dr. Suarez joined Coastal Bend College as Dean of Academics. He is a proud member of Pi Alpha Alpha- Honor Society for Public Administration, and Beta Gamma Sigma- Honor Society for Business.  

Dr. Suarez has published research in the field of public policy, which includes a recent study of Dual Credit program policies within the Rio Grande Valley. 

Zachary lives in Beeville, Texas with his wife, Mary. They have one child, Ezra.
