• Biography

    Mrs. Luz Angela Miranda is from Santiago de Cali, Colombia in South America. 

    She attended San Buenaventura University in Cali Colombia and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked for 10 years as a preschool teacher in Colombia. She arrived to the United States in 2001 with her husband looking for better opportunities for their family.  

    She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Elementary and Bilingual Education at Western New Mexico University in 2009. She taught for three years as a preschool teacher, and three years as an adjunct Spanish instructor at Coastal Bend College. She has been a full time faculty member since fall 2015. 

    Mrs. Miranda is a believer that the United States is the land of opportunity and that education is the best way to achieve your personal goals. In her Spanish class she promotes the different cultural values and traditions, and also encourages her students to be active in their community through projects and activities. 

    Mrs. Miranda has lived in Beeville with her husband and their two daughters since 2009. She loves to read, watch movies, and spend time with her family.
