Dr. Patricia
A. Rehak currently serves as the Provost of Coastal Bend College. She is a
member of the President’s cabinet and has the responsibility for the planning
and management of student services and evaluation of all facets of credit and
noncredit instructional programs and services. Dr. Rehak works in collaboration
with Deans, chairs, coordinators, directors, and faculty and is responsible for
policy development with instructional and student services programs. As Chief
Academic Officer, she designs programs and services with academic excellence.
As Provost, she is responsible for supervision of key personnel in instruction,
student services and learning services, oversight of academic and career and
technical education, and the center locations. Dr. Rehak serves as the SACSCOC
Liaison and has over 15 years of experience working with accreditation.
Professional Leadership and Strategic
Initiatives
Dr. Rehak
has over 20 years of experience in higher education serving in roles as a
faculty member and an administrator. She has served on three different college
administrative teams at Wharton County Community College, Victoria College and
now Coastal Bend College, served as an Executive Director of Institutional
Effectiveness, Research and Assessment, Division Chair of Technology and
Business, and Department Head of transfer and general education and career and
technical education departments. She has worked with four different college
Presidents to develop Strategic Plans and served as a member of a master
planning team.
Curriculum and Program Development
Dr. Rehak
has served as chair of curriculum committees for over 10 years and has guided
and supported curriculum, course and program development and
assessment/evaluation. Her professional work has included the development of
programs and associated certificates such as in Early Childhood and Human
Services.
Community and State Level
Collaborations and Partnerships
Dr. Rehak collaborates
with community and state level organizations and stakeholders at a local and
state level in support of student success. She has participated in the Texas
Success Pathways project, the Houston GPS Alliance and partnered with Victoria
ISD, Victoria College and Texas Region III to host a regional P-16 conference.
She developed numerous working partnerships with agencies such as the Fort
Bend, Matagorda and Wharton Tri-County Extension Agency, Fort Bend, Matagorda
and Wharton Tri-County Head Start, Fort Bend ISD and the Gulf-Coast Consortium.
She continues to partner and work with Coastal Bend College partners in higher
education.
Service to the College and Community
Dr. Rehak
has served/chaired many college-wide committees such as, Achieving the Dream,
Pathways, Assessment, Relationship Management, Workload and Grievance. She
secured the National Technology Honor Society Charter for Wharton County Junior
College and developed and sponsored the WCJC Behavioral Science Club. She is a
past president for the Victoria Downtown Rotary Club.
