• Lynn Southerland, RDH, MPA, FAADH graduated from Tyler Junior College in 1987, East Tennessee State University in 2010 and The University of Texas Permian Basin in 2020. She achieved the title of fellowship from the American Academy of Dental Hygiene after demonstrating her dedication to her profession and resolve for life-long learning in 2011. Lynn has had over 35 years’ experience in the dental field. She has practiced as a dental assistant for over 5 years and has been a practicing Registered Dental Hygienist for 30 years. 

    She is a member of the American Academy of Dental Hygienists, American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association, and Corpus Christi Dental Hygienists’ Association. She currently serves as President for the Corpus Christi Dental Hygiene Association and the Immediate Past President of the American Academy of Dental Hygienists. 

    Lynn was elected for the position of Trustee and President of the Central Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association for multiple terms. She has also served on the Governing Council, Fellowship Approval Committee, Membership Committee chairperson and Treasurer for the American Academy of Dental Hygiene. At the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association, Lynn has served as Chairman to the following councils and committees: Professional Education Council, Website Committee, and Public Affairs Council. She served as the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association representative to the Texas Oral Health Coalition and served on the Advocacy Committee for the Coalition. Along with undertaking the title of Chairperson to several committees and councils, Lynn also served on the Corporate Relations Committee, Area Media Spokesperson Committee, and the Governmental Affairs Council for the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association. As President of the Central Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association, Lynn volunteered as a member of the Temple College Dental Hygiene Advisory Committee.
