    Meet the TRAIL Team!

    David ByrdDr. David Byrd came to Coastal Bend College in January 2023 from Texas State University where he served as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs. Before joining the administration at Texas State, he was P.I. on a Title V grant at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and the School of Nursing’s Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Services and Associate Professor of Research. David and his wife, Amanda, live in Goliad with their three children. He volunteers by serving on the Vestry as Jr. Warden at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and with the Sons of the Republic of Texas. David is happiest outdoors hunting, fishing, golfing, or working on his Brangus cattle ranch – Pájaro Cattle Company. 

    Aurelia RochaDr. Aurelia Rocha is an expert in the field of performing arts and education. Combining her experience in orchestral performance, arts administration, and arts education, she works to improve the quality of educational experiences for all in the field of higher education. She arrived in Coastal Bend College in August 2022 from the Alamo Colleges District where she served as Faculty Fellow in Faculty Development and as adjunct instructor in applied cello.
    Dr. Rocha has maintained a position as section cellist in the Midland Odessa Symphony Orchestra for over 10 years and plays in regional orchestras throughout south and west Texas.
     

    Luz MirandaMrs. Luz Miranda arrived from Colombia in 2001 and began working at Coastal Bend College in 2012. As an educator, she used her experience in Early Childhood, Interdisciplinary studies, and Instructional Design to create engaging courses for students and workshops for faculty. While at Coastal Bend she sponsored the Spanish Club and has been active in the Beeville community.
    Mrs. Miranda is the proud mother of two daughters, who both plan to go into the medical and dental fields. She and her husband Dr. Francisco Miranda love to travel with the family visiting tourist hotspots in the U.S.
