Joint Statement of the Coastal Bend College Board of Trustees and Dr. Justin Hoggard
Dr. Justin Hoggard has announced his resignation as College President for the Coastal Bend College. Dr. Hoggard and the Board of Trustees reached an agreement that gives Dr. Hoggard the ability to pursue other interests and permits the Board to pursue hiring another College President. Dr. Hoggard will serve as President Emeritus from April 4, 2025, until his resignation effective June 6, 2025, so that Dr. Hoggard will be available to assist the interim president ensure a smooth leadership transition. The Board and Dr. Hoggard have entered into the Agreement believing it is in their respective best interests.
On behalf of the entire College, the Board of Trustees expresses its sincere appreciation to Dr. Hoggard for his efforts while serving as College President of this great College. Dr. Hoggard deserves the College’s sincerest gratitude for his tireless work, diligence, and energy in turning around the College. The many achievements and accomplishments of the entire college team during Dr. Hoggard’s tenure as College President are too numerous to list, but it is safe to say that Dr. Hoggard has left Coastal Bend College a better place than it was when he got here. The Board of Trustees is grateful to Dr. Hoggard, and the College’s next President has a tough act to follow.
Dr. Hoggard thanks the present and past Board of Trustees for providing him with the opportunity to serve as the President of Coastal Bend College. A college is measured by the commitment of the Board, staff, and community to its students and their achievements. This Board exemplifies this commitment. Dr. Hoggard would like to express his heartfelt appreciation to the faculty, staff, and community for their support of the College’s programs and services during his term as College President.
Success requires hard work, dedication, leadership, and vision. The Board and Dr. Hoggard wish to acknowledge and recognize the students, faculty, administrators, staff, and patrons, who have all contributed to the College’s accomplishments over the last six years.
The Board extends its best wishes to Dr. Hoggard and his family in their future endeavors. For its part, the Board will soon begin its search for a new College President as not to disrupt the College’s operations.
