LVN to RN Bridge Program Information

This program builds on the education that Licensed Vocational Nurses have already obtained. The prospective applicant must hold an unencumbered LVN license through the State of Texas Board of Nurses or a compact state prior to entering this program.  Upon successful completion, graduates will earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree and be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN to become a Licensed as a Registered Nurse through the Texas Board of Nursing.

The modalities for the coursework will include online and in-person lectures and labs at the Beeville Campus, and external clinical experiences.  Students will be required to attend lectures and labs in person at least two days per week.  In addition to the in-person lectures and labs, clinical experiences will be scheduled at various times and locations within the college district.

Requirements for the program include: 

  • Satisfactory scores on entrance exam (TEAS)
  • TSI complete for Reading and Math
  • Successful completion of prerequisite courses with a "C" or better 
  • Cleared background check 
  • Completion of all immunizations as required by the Texas Department of State Health Services 
  • Current CPR certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association 

Selections for this program will be competitive.  The selection committee will select applicants for the program according to a scoring system.  Points are scored for applicant's GPA on prerequisite courses, TEAS score, and completion of coursework. 

Application procedure:

  1. Schedule and take the TEAS exam.        
  2. Receive the link for the online application after attaining satisfactory scores on the entrance exam.      
  3. Receive and complete the application online prior to the deadline.       
  4. Await an email to see if you have been selected by the Selection Committee.       
  5. Return your acceptance letter.
