Title IX Mission Statement
The Title IX Team is committed to maintaining an environment that respects the dignity and worth of every member of its community by ensuring that every student, staff, faculty, visitors, and vendors can work and learn in a safe and nurturing environment. Members of the campus community are entitled to an educational, learning, and working environment free of harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation.
Title IX applies to and protects students, staff, faculty, visitors, and vendors at the Coastal Bend College campus as well as other sites, centers, and programs affiliated with the College.

Coastal Bend College will be a leader and model in maintaining a respectful learning and working environment free from sexual harassment, sexual violence, and gender discrimination.
Title IX Statement
Title IX of the Education Amendments 1972 (20 U.S.C. s1681 et seq.) and its implementing regulations, 34 C.F.R. Part 106 (Title IX) state the following: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."
The College strives to maintain a healthy and safe environment where all members of the community, students, faculty and staff feel welcome on College locations and classrooms. Students, faculty and staff are thus prohibited from conducting themselves in a way that results in any form of sexual harassment, sex- based harassment and/or sexual violence.
