Welcome to the TRIO Talent Search Program

Coastal Bend College in Beeville, Texas, currently hosts the Talent Search Program which was originally funded in 1976. The Talent Search Program identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to the post-secondary institution of their choice. The goal of Talent Search is to increase the number of youths from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in the post-secondary educational institution of their choice.
Talent Search is a federally funded program designed to identify and assist individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds (low-income and first-generation) who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to the post-secondary institution of their choice.

- Income guidelines must be met by student's guardians

We pay for your ACT testing!
Students can received up to 2 waivers throughout high school.
Students will have the opportunity to sign up for ACT testing at their high school. If a student is needing an ACT voucher please email dsoliz@coastalbend.edu

The 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open. The redesigned FAFSA has significantly less questions to answer and more students could qualify for the PELL grant. This is a key step in the college admission process and we are here to help. We are now taking appointments for FAFSA assistance. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm. As a participant in TRIO Talent Search you are eligible to receive a College Admissions Fee Waiver. It is the student's responsibility to follow up with the college if the fee waiver was accepted.
