Associate of Arts

The Associate of Arts (AA) degree program is a two-year course of study that covers the core materials needed to complete the first two years of a Texas four-year college or university’s Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree program. The AA program is designed to parallel the student’s choice in a bachelor’s program at a specific Texas four- year college or university. Upon successfully completing the program at Coastal Bend College, the credits students earn can then be transferred as an Associate of Arts credential upon graduation to the Texas four-year college or university that the student identified.

Associate of Arts in Teaching

The student seeking an AA in Teaching will receive a foundation in the field of Teaching. The two-year curriculum is designed to provide the students with the skills and knowledge needed as an introduction to the field of teaching. Graduates of the program can transfer to a university and continue their study in teaching. Students seeking the AA in Teaching must apply for the teaching program at the university they decide to transfer to.

Associate of Science

The Associate of Science (AS) degree program is a two-year course of study that covers the core materials needed to complete the first two years of a Texas four year college or university’s Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program. The AS program is designed to parallel the student’s choice in a bachelor’s program at a specific Texas four-year college or university. Upon successfully completing the program at Coastal Bend College, the credits students earn can be then transferred as an Associate of Science credential upon graduation to the Texas four-year college or university that the student identified.
