Installment Plans
An installment payment plan is available to all students at the time of initial registration. The plan, which is administered by NELNET, is only available online via Cougar Den and requires the use of a bank account number or a credit card. There is a $25 fee for this service.
Refund Information:
Any drop before the first course day = 100% refund
For a 16 week (full semester) Course: the last day for 70% refund is the 15th course day; the last day for 25% refund is the 20th course day.
For an 8 week Course: the last day for a 70% refund is the 8th course day; the last day for 25% refund is the 10th course day.
Financial Aid for Swift Transfer (FAST)
The Financial Aid for Swift Transfer (FAST) program provides funding to participating public institutions of higher education so they can offer dual credit courses to educationally disadvantaged students at no cost.
The Texas Higher Education Commission Board (THECH) has adopted a maximum tuition rate for dual credit courses, which is $55.00. For the academic year 2024-2025 CBC has opted to participate in FAST. Students who qualify for FAST cannot be charged any tuition and course fees. Also, textbooks and course materials can not be charged to the FAST students.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Dreamkeepers ApplicationOutreach Scholarships: These scholarships are offered to a limited number of students who are majoring in specific fields or meet particular requirements determined by donor of scholarship.
Academic Scholarships (HS graduates only): Student who graduate in the top 10% of their graduating class in a TEA accredited high schools are eligible if they are beginning their college education. This scholarship is an award of $500 per semester for four consecutive regular semesters.
Coastal Bend College Scholarship (HS graduates only): These scholarships are offered to a limited number of students, providing an award of $400 per semester and students that graduated from a high school 50 or more miles away from CBC may receive a free room at the residence hall. These scholarships are open to all majors and are renewable for three semesters if the recipient successfully completes 12 semester hours each semester and maintains a 2.5 GPA.
