Medication Administration
Coastal Bend College’s Certified Medication Aide Program, designed for Certified Nursing Aides (CNAs) wanting to advance their medical professional careers, covers a wide range of topics required for proper medication administration. After completing the course, students will be prepared to take the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Medication Aide Certification Exam.
For those already certified as Medication Aides, Coastal Bend College offers a refresher course that meets the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) requirements for maintaining their annual 7 hour Continuing Education units.
CBC currently does not have a Medication Aide course scheduled. Our mediation aide refresher course is offered completely online, asynchronously. Upcoming dates are:

Medication Administration Refresher
Course Overview: This one-week online course is via Blackboard Learning Shell with a tuition cost of $75.00
Notice: The Medication Aide Refresher course operates on a first-come, first-served basis. This means that applications are processed in the order they are received, and course seats are filled accordingly. To maximize your chances of securing a spot in the course, we highly recommend submitting your completed CE Registration form as soon as possible.
Submit Your CE Registration Form: Submit your completed CE Registration form to ce@coastalbend.edu. Once your form is approved and completed, you will be registered for the soonest course and receive your bill for the course.
Tuition Payment: The course tuition is $75.00. You must pay the full tuition by the course's start date.

CPR Training
CPR- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (4 hours)
Course Fee: $50.00
This course is designed for citizens who have not been CPR certified, or who have an expired certification. This course teaches the techniques of basic life support (BLS) for all cases of respiratory and cardiac arrest.
Students must complete a Continuing Education Enrollment form.an submit it to the Continuing Education Department for enrollment. Tuition is due at the time of enrollment.
Each student must have the current BLS provide manual readily available for use before, during, and after the course.
Students will need to:
• Read the manual before coming to class
• Bring the manual to class to use as a resource during the exam
• Refer to the manual after the course to maintain knowledge
