Entrance Exam for Nursing Programs: Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
The TEAS is a multiple-choice assessment test measuring basic academic preparedness in Reading, Math, Science, and English. The objectives assessed in this test are those that Nursing and Allied Health educators deem most relevant for measuring entry level skills and abilities of program applicants. The test not only predicts the performance of incoming candidates, but it also helps educators gain advance knowledge of the strengths and areas needing development of those that are accepted into the program.
TEAS test must be taking within one year from the start date the applicant is applying for. For example, If the student is applying for Fall 2023 and the start date is August 21, 2023, then only TEAS exams taken August 21, 2022 and later will be accepted. Only 3 attempts are allowed per year.
The fee for testing is approximately $70 + tax for each attempt and are paid directly to Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI). Coastal Bend College has no control of price changes.
