Vocational Nursing Program Information
The CBC Vocational Nursing Day Program is a 12-month (3 semesters) program in which you will learn the skills you need to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Classes start every Summer and are 8 am - 5 pm Monday thru Thursday with some online work scheduled for Fridays.
Application procedure:
- Apply for admission to the college by following the steps at: coastalbend.edu/future/
- Schedule and take the TEAS exam. An overall score of 55% with a minimum score of 40 in each category (Math, Reading, Science, Writing) is required to receive the application link.
- Complete the online application by the deadline. You will need to upload your unofficial transcripts in the application. Official transcripts must be sent to the admission office.
- Await an email to see if you have been selected by the Selection Committee.
- Return your acceptance letter.
To be eligible for admission, students must have completed the following prerequisites:
- TSI Complete*
- EDUC 1300
- BCIS 1305**
- HPRS 1106***

** a test out option of 70% in computer literacy is available for BCIS 1305
***comparable medical terminology course may be substituted for HPRS 1106 (HPRS 2302, HITT 1305, etc.)
