Requirements for Associate in Arts Degree

Students seeking Associate in Arts degree must complete a minimum of 60 semester hours of university-transfer courses in degree plans approved by advisers. Developmental courses do not count toward degree requirements.

Students may substitute requirements for AA Degree with permission from Chairperson. Maximum transfer hours allowed are 66 total credits. Excess of 60 hours will be considered as general electives or consult catalog of institution where transfer is desired. All classes are not offered every semester. Take when available. A minimum of 15 hours of Art courses is required. Courses that are underlined are recommended from choices available. One Arts is used as the Humanities required core course.

Due to Core Curriculum requirements/accreditation, you may be required to attend summer classes or an additional semester. A maximum of 9 hours may be transferred back from another institution in order to receive your AA from Coastal Bend College.
